Pay what you can or pay more so someone else can eat! This concept is an amazing way to help take care of your neighbor.
Yes, even in the incredibly wealthy Vail Valley, people are struggling. There is an unbelievable disparity between the haves and the have nots.
Joe's Place aims to be a welcoming place where someone who is hungry and looking for connection can come and sit with dignity and enjoy a hot meal among friends.
There are many opportunities for volunteerism in Joe's Place.
It is very difficult for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities to find meaningful work and Joe's Place will provide as many opportunities as we can to get people started on the right foot.
Joe's Place will always have positions available in various areas to help prepare individuals for the next step in their work life.
We will teach customer service, food preparation, work ethic and other key characteristics valuable to any future employment.
The Vail Valley is very unique. Many people move here with hopes of enjoying all the amazing things our mountains provide. But quite often it is difficult to actually meet people and make connections.
People new to the valley and even those who have lived here for years often find themselves in a very lonely place.
Our goal with Joe's Place is to encourage people to interact with each other and to have many different areas to volunteer. We want to be able to give people a purpose and let them share that purpose with others.
We will have large community tables as well as smaller tables for people that may be experiencing anxiety but still want someone to come and sit down with them. These bonding tables will be designated and if no one sits our staff will be trained to visit with them within a few minutes.
